Udine stands at the centre of the Region Friuli-Venezia Giulia in a favoured geographical position, near a wide and pleasant arch of morainic hills, on the international route which links up the south and the northeast of Europe and just ca. 1 hour and half from Venice.

A truly superlative choice whether opting for Protestant, Catholic or Civil. For the latter option Udine would be a great venue since there are two superb wedding halls available. One of them is quite magnificent and the castle where it is located has wonderful views of the charming town on one side and the unique countryside with its hills and mountains on the other one.

The Castello itself is located on the hill that rises in the middle of the city, so you cannot miss it. It is surrounded by a small park, where many of the Udinesi go for a passeggiata (walk) on the weekends.

The most important hall in the Castle is the wedding hall or the so-called Sala del Parlamento, where art exhibitions and theatre performances are held during the year. The inside has wonderful frescoes of famous painters as Tiepolo and high ceilings - it is very impressive and looks superb in photos.

Udine also has many lovely and romantic churches dotted all over the old town, which is usually closed to the traffic. Some of them, as for instance the Dome are decorated with frescos and paintings of Tiepolo and further great artists of the past centuries.
