Destination Weddings in Corsica

Celebrate your wedding in Corsica, a picturesque and welcoming island located some hundred miles off the southeast coast of France. Corsica is known for its ancient walled towns, its beautiful beaches and its lovely inland scenery of forests, mountains and crystal-clear rivers.

A large part of Corsica is natural park. The landscape of the island is breathtaking, particularly the mountains of Les Calenche, which offer spectacular views of the Mediterranean sea.

At the center of the island is Corsica's former capital, Corte. This sleepy fortress village features a citadel that contains a museum dedicated to the history and culture of Corsica, and is set amidst rocky mountains.

The elegant port city of Ajaccio, on the southwest coast of the island, was the birthplace of Napoleon. This is the perfect place to relax in pavement cafés, shaded by palm trees in typical Mediterranean style. Another typical Corsican town is Bastia, in the north. A lively port, Bastia presents many Baroque churches and a romantic old port to explore.

Bonifacio benefits from the most striking setting in Corsica. It is perched on limestone cliffs at the southernmost point of the island, surrounded by clear waters. The views are superb, and much of the haute ville (high town) is contained within the walls of the citadel.

Corsica has countless superb beaches, and those found at Calvi are particularly attractive. Snowcapped mountains provide the backdrop to the city, which boasts a huge citadel, a picturesque marina and many tiny cobbled streets that are ideal for exploring.

Your wedding in Corsica will be infused with both Italian and French influences, plus distinctive Corsican culture. A cappella singing, known as polyphony, is a particularly traditional and romantic addition to your celebrations. Enjoy your day!
