Civil wedding in San Quirico d'Orcia, Tuscany - June 22nd 2001

We got back to work after our Honeymoon yesterday. The wedding went off very well and we had a great day - the weather was magnificent. Everything progressed smoothly and we and our guests loved Locanda dell'Amorosa - the food, atmosphere, service and wine were all excellent. Our wedding assistant/interpreter was very helpful - we spoke to him a couple of times during the week - and he did a good job shepherding guests to the right place on the day. He charmed most of the guests i think. The wording of the ceremony was really very nice, in particular, as we didn't know what to expect and it was conducted with flair by the official at San Quirico d'orcia - I don't know if he was the mayor but he looked the part. They also gave me a bouquet as a gift from San Quirico which was very thoughtful. The official rooms there are really lovely, with painted murals, big windows so lots of light and good seating etc. i would definitely recommend it as a civil venue. My own flowers were nice too - I have dried and kept the lavender from the bouquet. The car and driver were good. Excellent English.
