Civil WeddingsEach country has different rules that apply to civil weddings (legally recognized marriages).
However, generally they must take place in official wedding halls approved by the local authorities. In most cases authorities do not recognize marriages in private villas or castles and most countries forbid outdoor civil weddings; this can vary depending on the country. In Italy for example a Protestant pastor with authority to celebrate a civil and religious ceremony together can come out to your villa or palace and marry you.
The wedding halls we use are unique locations such as villas or ancient palazzos with views or gardens; not cold government halls!! A government representative performs the ceremony and you may personalize your civil wedding ceremony with music, readings and have about 30 minutes available.
Symbolic weddings can, however, take place anywhere - there are no restrictions. Catholic can only take place in a Catholic church. |
